Buffalo Man Arraigned for Fatally Stabbing His Sister

Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Nicholas X. Allen, 24, of Buffalo, was arraigned this afternoon before Buffalo City Court Judge John P. Feroleto on the following offenses:

• One count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class "A-I" felony)
• One count of Attempted Assault in the Second Degree (Class "E" felony)
• One count of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (Class "E" felony)
• One count of Assault in the Third Degree (Class "A" misdemeanor)
• One count of Menacing in the Second Degree (Class "A" misdemeanor)
• One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (Class "A" misdemeanor)
• One count of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree (Class "A" misdemeanor)
• One count of Harassment in the Second Degree (violation)

It is alleged that on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Buffalo Police responded to the 200 block of Commonwealth Avenue for a reported stabbing. The defendant is accused of intentionally stabbing his sister multiple times while inside of their shared residence. The victim, a 17-year-old female, was taken by ambulance to ECMC where she died from injuries to her upper body.

Allen is scheduled to return on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. He was held without bail pending the results of a forensic examination.

If convicted of the highest charge, Allen faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Rebecca L. Schnirel of the Homicide Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
