Dentons leaders take part in Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise awareness and funds for homelessness

June 23, 2026

Australia-Dentons, the world's largest law firm, took part in the 2026 Vinnies CEO Sleepout in Sydney and Perth, with senior leaders spending a night outdoors to raise awareness of homelessness and generate vital funds for the St Vincent de Paul Society. Australia Chair and Australasia Region CEO Amber Warren, Partner Kate Walawski and Senior Associate Clare Park joined business and community leaders across the country in support of Australians experiencing homelessness.

Held on Thursday 18 June, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout offers a glimpse into the harsh realities faced by thousands of Australians each night.

"Homelessness is an issue we all walk past every day. This was our opportunity to stop and give it the attention it deserves," said Australia Chair and Australasia Region CEO Amber Warren.

Collectively Dentons leaders Amber, Kate and Clare raised over $12,000 for the initiative which supports St Vincent de Paul Society in delivering critical services to people in need, including emergency accommodation, food and essential household support.

The initiative also highlighted emerging trends in homelessness, including the growing number of older single women at risk - an issue that often remains hidden in plain sight. Single women over 55 are now the fastest-growing group experiencing homelessness.

Dentons' participation reflects the firm's longstanding commitment to community impact and inclusion. Through one of the largest pro bono practices in the world, the firm supports individuals and organisations who might otherwise struggle to access legal assistance and advocates for initiatives that strengthen communities. Supporting its female leaders in this initiative also underscores Dentons' contribution to addressing homelessness while advancing broader equality outcomes.

"I was proud to participate as a Partner of Dentons. Giving back is deeply embedded in our culture, and I was grateful to be part of a firm that actively encourages its people to make a meaningful contribution beyond the workplace," said Partner Kate Walawski.

Senior Associate Clare Park added, "One night outside was a small sacrifice compared to what so many people endure every day. I hoped it helped make a real difference for those who need it most."

Dentons encouraged clients, colleagues and the broader community to support the initiative through donations, helping to break the cycle of homelessness and provide tangible support to vulnerable Australians.
