Blossoms & Bins Beautification Project

The Georgia International Horse Park is excited to announce the launch of Blossoms & Bins, a year-long beautification project that will transform ordinary trash bins into colorful works of art, painted by local students, businesses, and community partners.

The project officially kicked off on September 12, 2025, with students from Peachtree Academy High School painting the first set of bins. Each finished bin will be placed throughout the Georgia International Horse Park, Big Haynes Creek Nature Center, and the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival, where more than 100,000 visitors will enjoy the vibrant, hand-painted pieces.

"Blossoms & Bins is more than just a beautification effort-it's a celebration of community pride, creativity, and collaboration," said Rebecca Hill, Director of the Georgia International Horse Park. "We're excited to give students, schools, and businesses the chance to leave a lasting mark on the Horse Park-showcased in high-visibility areas around the equestrian areas, nature center-and to be recognized at one of our community's most cherished traditions, the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival."

Paint supplies and bins will be provided by the Horse Park when participants schedule painting sessions on-site. Off-site sessions can also be arranged. Blossoms & Bins offers schools, civic groups, and local businesses a unique way to showcase their creativity while also gaining high-visibility recognition in the community.

"Conyers Rockdale Council for the Arts is excited to partner with Big Haynes Creek Nature Center and the City of Conyers on an outstanding new public art initiative. Blossom & Bins is a perfect example of how public art can transform our everyday environment, strengthen community pride and spark joy," said Rachelle Norton, Interim Executive Director. "By turning something as ordinary as a trash bin into a canvas, we're not only beautifying our city but also encouraging a deeper appreciation for our shared spaces and the creative talent within our community."

Other collaborative partners include Rockdale County Public School System and The Sketching Pad of Olde Town Conyers.

In addition to year-long visibility, participating students will receive special recognition on stage at the 2026 Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival.

The Georgia International Horse Park invites schools, organizations, and businesses to join the Blossoms & Bins project by scheduling a painting day or joining a scheduled event.
