City & Frisco Family Services Partner to Help Families in Need, Support Rail District Businesses

(November 6, 2025) The City of Frisco and the Frisco Community Development Corporation (FCDC) are teaming up with Frisco Family Services (FFS) to help local families and seniors in need while supporting Rail District businesses during Main Street reconstruction. By donating items or serving volunteer hours, individuals can earn a $50 gift card to use at participating downtown businesses while supplies last.

"The values that built Frisco -- faith, generosity, and neighbors helping neighbors -- still guide us today," said Chad Brubaker, Chairman, Frisco Community Development Corporation. "This effort puts those values into action: supporting families through Frisco Family Services, then using those gift cards to stand behind the small businesses that keep our Rail District thriving."

Starting Friday, November 7, receive a $50 gift card when you assist Frisco Family Services with one of the following:

  • Drop off $50 or more in food donations to the FFS Market, located at 9085 Dogwood.
  • Donate $50 or more in toys to the FFS Help Us Save Christmas toy drive.
  • Deliver $50 or more in in-kind donations to Frisco Resale, located at 9125 Dogwood, Suite 200
  • Volunteer at FFS for two or more hours. Find volunteer information here.

"We're a vital resource for those in our community facing crisis and in need of financial assistance and food," said Nicole S. Bursey, Executive Director, Frisco Family Services. "A 20% increase in visits to our market and other services right now means we urgently need donations."

A total of 500 $50 gift cards is allocated to Frisco Family Services for the giveaway. This offer is for a physical, paper gift card. It's a separate campaign from the 'Buy One, Get One' (BOGO) digital gift card program announced earlier this week.

The single-use gift card can only be used at participating Rail District businesses and can't be used for tobacco, vape, or smoke products. Present your gift card when you check out. No 'change' will be given for a purchase less than $50. Gift cards must be used by January 31, 2026.

The FCDC allocated $500 thousand dollars to support Rail District businesses. $200 thousand dollars provides advertising grants to Rail District businesses and $300 thousand dollars supports Gift Card programs.

Reconstruction of Main Street through the historic Rail District began in July 2024 as part of the downtown Rail District redevelopment project. Main Street construction will be substantially completed by the end of 2025.
