Nobleman’s disease, a flight to the Moon and growing peasant discontent – watch the trailer for third season of 1670

"That's one small step for a peasant, but a giant leap for the nobility," declares Jan Paweł, who is ready to send a peasant to the Moon to prove to the world that he is a true homo sarmatus . Where will his ambition lead him this time? Will his experience in negotiations with the Turks come in handy at the royal court? And where is the rest of the Adamczewski family in all this? The trailer for the third season heralds a return to the Sarmatian world that has begun to shake to its foundations. The new season premieres on August 5, only on Netflix.

The action of the third season of 1670 begins shortly after the grand Royal Harvest Festival in Adamczycha. The bitter truth about Jan Paweł's origins, revealed during the ceremony, and the loss of all noble charters in the library fire have cast over the Sarmatians the shadow of a tragedy worse than the plague. Adamczycha is gripped by "post-noble fever." The identity crisis affects not only the heads of the noble houses, but also every member of the Adamczewski family. Zofia struggles with empty nest syndrome, and even loudly intoning the traditional Gorzkie żale lamentations cannot fill the deafening silence of the manor house. Jakub is trying to conquer Warsaw, but the big city tempts him with more than just business opportunities. Aniela returns to Adamczycha and decides to finally take care of herself-right after she gets a school for peasants up and running. Meanwhile, the peasants themselves are growing restless, muttering under their breath as if they were preparing not for harvest, but for revolt… The world, which so far seemed as stable as the liberum veto, begins to raise more questions than answers. Will the Adamczewski family face a major rift? Can a peasant make it to the Moon? Will Aniela and Maciej find their way back to each other? What is the worst of creatures, Andrzej, plotting? And where, in all of this, is Bogdan?

"John Paul's motivation and ambition literally reach for the cosmos this season, which naturally involves crossing ever new boundaries of absurdity. And with that comes even more room to surprise the viewer or to veer off into strange pop-culture nooks and crannies," says 1670 creator and screenwriter Jakub Rużyłło.

"The third chapter in the story of the 1670 characters is darker than the previous one, which makes its tone closer to that of the first season. And although we return to our Adamczycha - muddy and grey - the story takes us to many different places: Warsaw, royal courts, outdoor locations. The third season, with its wealth of new events, characters and plot twists, paints a panorama of the show's world from a much broader perspective," says 1670 's director, Kordian Kądziela.

Season 3 of 1670 returns to Netflix on August 5.
