New Utility Billing System: What You Need to Know June 27, 2025 - The City of Bettendorf is beginning the transition to its new utility billing system. Here's what you need to know: Starting Monday, June 30 at 12 p.m., residential payments will be temporarily unavailable. Starting Thursday, July 10, a new bill will be sent to you, including any past-due balances. If you are past due, you'll get a one-time reprieve from collections and disconnects. To view and pay your utility bills moving forward, you will need to sign up for our new online payment portal available through our website. Stay tuned for more information on that. February 11, 2025 - The City of Bettendorf is preparing for a major update to its utility billing system, which will affect both residential and commercial customers over the coming months. As part of this transition, residents and business owners can expect updates to their billing cycles and payment processes, with full implementation expected by July 2025. Residential Billing Changes All residential customers will be moved to a standardized quarterly billing cycle to better align with fiscal and calendar year quarters. This means bills will be issued four times a year, matching the first, second, third, and fourth fiscal quarters. This change will allow for greater consistency and easier tracking of payments. Commercial Billing Changes All commercial customers billed on a quarterly basis will shift to a monthly billing cycle to provide a more consistent and manageable billing experience. Starting in the new cycle, businesses will receive bills covering services from the 1st to the last day of each month. This change is designed to provide a more regular and predictable billing experience for businesses throughout Bettendorf, simplifying the payment process and helping businesses manage cash flow more effectively. New Payment Portal Along with the new billing system, Bettendorf residents and businesses will also have access to an upgraded payment portal.
