Government has decided to introduce fourteenth monthly pension

At its Wednesday meeting, the government decided to introduce the fourteenth monthly pension, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on his Facebook account on Thursday.

In a video shared on his social media account, Mr Orbán recalled that left-wing governments had taken the thirteenth monthly pension away from pensioners during the period before the patriotic government.

"In the past few years, we have succeeded in giving back the thirteenth monthly pension, and now the time has come to take another big step: we are introducing the fourteenth monthly pension," the Prime Minister announced.

He said in practice this means that "next February every pensioner will receive their normal monthly pension, the thirteenth monthly pension and a weekly instalment, meaning a quarter, of the fourteenth monthly pension, another instalment a year later, and so on."

"We deliver on our promises. We said that with us even with those will be better-off who don't vote for us. Everyone is eligible for this pension, it doesn't matter whom they voted for. Respect to the elderly," Mr Orbán said.
