Chinese Consul General in Munich Qiu Xuejun Attends the Opening Ceremony of f.re.e 2026 and Cuts the Ribbon with the Hosts and Other Distinguished Guests

The f.re.e 2026 kicked off on February 18 with a grand opening ceremony. Nearly 1,000 exhibitors from approximately 50 countries participated in this year's fair. Mr. Qiu Xuejun, Consul General of China in Munich attended the opening ceremony and, together with hosts and other distinguished guests including Dr. Christian Scharpf, Head of the Department of Labor and Economic Development of Munich, and Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, CEO of Messe München GmbH, cut the ribbon for the fair.

A delegation from Suzhou Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau participated in the exhibition, marking China's first participation in the Fair since 2020. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, organizers and guests visited the Suzhou booth as their first stop of official tour. Mr. Zhu Yiqiang, Director of the Suzhou Culture and Tourism Overseas (Europe) Promotion Centre, introduced Suzhou's rich tourism resources to the guests. Consul General Qiu Xuejun introduced Suzhou's economic and trade cooperation with Germany and the State of Bavaria, saying that Suzhou's participation in the exhibition represents a solid step forward for China's tourism industry in cultivating the Bavarian tourism market.
