HEC Montréal's Business Language Training Centre (CFLA) has launched a new website that seeks to promote both the development of responsible digital behaviours and the learning of precise and varied French vocabulary on the subject of cybercitizenship.
"We realized that it is important to provide the general public with access to content derived from reliable sources, and showcasing French terminology in this field."
Valérie Patenaude, Coordinator - Business French, CFLAThe website has been developed thanks to the expertise of Alina Dulipovici, Associate Professor in HEC Montréal's Department of Information Technologies and Deputy Director - Education at the Multidisciplinary Institute for Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience (IMC2). She focuses primarily on the explanatory video clips that are featured throughout the cyber.hec.ca website.
"Individuals who use digital platforms take actions that influence not only their own security, but also that of others. As cybercitizens, we are all concerned because we have rights and responsibilities."
Alina DulipoviciThe project has been carried out with the financial participation of the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF) and has led to the creation of several new entries in Vitrine linguistique (linguistic showcase), for words or expressions related to this topic and found through the site.
The platform called "Did You Say Cybercitizenship?" is freely available to anyone wishing to learn more, in order to adopt more informed and more secure behaviours in the digital space. The website is also suitable for training in educational and professional settings.
The website explores the subject through four main themes or pathways, in the form of questions:
The platform also includes:
