IDAHO FALLS- Work to create a smoother ride and preserve the longevity of all lanes of U.S. Highway 20 between Idaho Falls and Rigby begins tonight. Work will be intermittent for this week only.
Due to high traffic volumes, crews will work overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the duration of this project, which is expected to be completed by late July.
Sunday to Thursday nights, travel will be reduced to one lane in the area work is occurring. Asphalt will be removed in sections, then repaved all in one night shift so both lanes of travel are open during daytime hours.
Motorists can expect to see these night-time work zones in effect from just north of Exit 309 at Science Center Drive to Exit 320 at Rigby. Drivers should be aware of staged equipment off the road during daytime hours.
