OAS Permanent Council to Receive Presentation from the IACHR about Request for on-site Visit to Venezuela and Commemorates World Mental Health Day

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, October 8, at 9:30 EDT (13:30 GMT) in the Simón Bolívar Room at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC to receive a "Presentation by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights concerning the request made to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to make an on-site visit in the last quarter of 2025, in order to observe the human rights situation, especially as regards persons incarcerated at the Metropolitan Caracas Detention Center for Defendants and Convicted Prisoners (Helicoide)" and to commemorate "World Mental Health Day."
