Youth Flag Football is one of Mesa's most popular recreation programs, and there is still time to register for the upcoming season. Spots are available in the NFL Co-Ed and Girls Flag Football Leagues, as well as the Flag Kinder Clinic for kids ages 4 to 6.
The NFL Flag Kinder Clinic begins Sept. 11, Co-Ed Leagues for ages 7 to14 kick off Sept. 14, and the Girls League for ages 8 to12 starts Sept. 24.
"Flag football is growing quickly and now being offered at the high school level," said Tina Royer, Mesa Recreation Supervisor for Athletics. "We launched our girls' league in 2024 and it has been a huge success-players learn the game, build confidence and have a lot of fun. This is our fifth season partnering with NFL Flag Football, and families love the experience, including the reversible replica jerseys."
The Kinder Clinic introduces young players to the fundamentals of flag football in a fun, supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork, basic skills and game play.
Registration fees are some of the lowest in the East Valley. Girls and Co-Ed Leagues are $90 for Mesa residents and $105 for non-residents. The Kinder Clinic is $80 for Mesa residents and $95 for non-residents. Scholarships and discounts of up to 50% are also available.
