Routine maintenance planned for Division Street

Slaton - TxDOT is scheduled to perform routine road maintenance next week on FM 41 (Division Street), in the city of Slaton. Work is scheduled to take place Tuesday and Wednesday (March 24-25).

The scrub seal operations will require various daytime lane and side-street closures. Traffic will be guided through the work zone via pilot car. Drivers should anticipate slow moving traffic and delays.

Scrub sealing operations consist of applying a layer of asphalt or emulsion to the roadway, followed by sand or a small aggregate on top to fill in cracks on the roadway's surface. The operation is a cost-effective way to prevent water from entering the roadbed and extending the life of the roadway.

Motorists are advised to pay attention and slow down as they enter the work area for their safety and the safety of the crew. Work will take place weather permitting.
