CMS Updates Resource on Reporting Related Party Costs

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) shared an updated educational resource in the February 5, 2026, Medicare Learning Network (MLN) Connects newsletter to support nursing homes in accurately reporting related party costs on the Medicare Cost Report. CMS recommends reviewing the Skilled Nursing Facility Billing Reference to find out why related party costs must be reported accurately and how to accurately report these costs with the required documentation.
