If you plan to have a few cheers for St. Patrick's Day, don't rely on luck to get you home safely. Plan ahead and designate a sober driver.
St. Patrick's Day is one of the biggest drinking nights of the year, making it especially important to ensure that someone who has not been drinking gets you home safely. Remember: Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving.
To enhance public safety, the Burbank Police Department will deploy additional officers on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., specifically monitoring for drivers suspected of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
If you plan on drinking alcohol, designate a sober driver, use a ride-share service, or take public transportation. If you are hosting a gathering, offer non-alcoholic beverages, monitor guests who consume alcohol, and help arrange safe transportation home.
If you see a suspected drunk driver on the road, call 9-1-1.
Funding for St. Patrick's Day DUI enforcement is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
