UTMB cardiologist Dr. Esosa Odigie-Okon, MD,MSc,FACC, has been chosen by the American College of Cardiology to participate in its Sandra J. Lewis Mid-Career Women's Leadership Institute.
Dr. Odigie-Okon, a clinical assistant professor in cardiology, is the medical director of the Cardiac MRI program and co-director of the Cardiac CT program at UTMB. She is a core faculty member of the cardiology fellowship program and director of cardiac imaging rotation.
"It is my privilege and honor as a UTMB faculty to be selected by the American College of Cardiology Sandra J. Lewis Leadership institute," Odigie-Okon said. "I look forward to the wonderful experiences and relationships I will gain over the next two years from this one-of-a-kind opportunity.
"I remain immensely grateful to my mentors who supported my application-Dr. Jane Cao, Dr. Madhavi Kadiyala and Dr. Ahmad Masood," she said. "Above all, I am grateful to God for his favor."
Inclusion in the program gives participants the opportunity to connect with mentors, learn more about themselves as professionals and leaders, assess their career path and build a community of support.
