(Chillicothe, Ohio, October 29, 2026) - U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Ohio State Director Charles Tassell was joined by Congressman Dave Taylor (OH-02) and Brynn Stepp from the Office of Senator Jon Husted in presenting a $750,000 Community Facilities grant to Adena Health System to expand their Emergency Medical Services transport capabilities.
The grant will help Adena Health purchase and equip two ambulances with the medical equipment, communication systems, and safety features needed to support inter-facility transfers, patient discharges, and urgent transportation. The ambulances will enhance access to healthcare services for rural residents and seniors with limited transportation options.
"Too many rural Americans lack access to emergency medical services," said Tassell. "Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Rural Development is closing this gap. We're proud to help connect the people of Southern Ohio with Adena Health's lifesaving work."
