Fields of Valor Returns to Honor Local Veterans at Patriot Park in Cathedral City, November 8-14, 2025

The Cathedral City Evening Rotary proudly presents the 21st Annual Fields of Valor Tribute Honoring Veterans, taking place November 8-14, 2025, at Patriot Park in Cathedral City.

Event Overview

Patriot Park, located at the intersection of Date Palm Drive and Dinah Shore Drive (33998 Date Palm Dr., Cathedral City, CA 92234), will be transformed into a breathtaking tribute featuring over 2,000 American flags honoring our military veterans-past, present, and fallen. This moving display also includes special recognition for Purple Heart recipients.

Opening Day Ceremony - Saturday, November 8th

The week-long tribute begins with a special Opening Day Ceremony:

  • 8:00 AM - Pancake Breakfast in the gazebo
  • 9:00 AM - Opening Ceremony on stage
    • Motor procession led by Cathedral City Police and Fire Departments along Date Palm Drive
    • Cathedral City officials will welcome the Coachella Valley community
    • Master of Ceremonies: Patrick Evans, Chief Meteorologist, KESQ News Channel 3
  • 10:00 AM - Flag placement by volunteers
    • A special walking procession, led by the powerful sounds of bagpipes, will guide volunteers as they place 2,000 flags throughout the park grounds
    • Each flag serves as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance

Please bring gloves for flag placement.

Daily Observances Throughout the Week

From November 8-14, the park will feature:

  • Flag Display: Daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Recorded Tribute: A soundtrack playing the names of local veterans who have been lost-a poignant reminder of those who served
  • Taps: Played each day at 4:00 PM

Special Features

  • Over 2,000 flags saluting local fallen soldiers and veterans returned to families from Vietnam, Iraq, Desert Storm, and Afghanistan wars
  • Designated areas for WWI, WWII, Korea, and Foreign War Veterans
  • NEW! Designated Area Recognizing Service Dogs

Closing - Friday, November 14th

Volunteers are needed to help retire the flags for storage until next year:

  • Time: 8:00 AM (approximately 2 hours)
  • What to Bring: Gloves
