Water Line Recharge Noise Expected Due to Pipeline Repair Work

The City of Richardson has been notified by the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) of a water pipeline leak and ongoing repair work in the area.

NTMWD crews are currently responding to a leak on a 60-inch water pipeline located in Wylie. Repairs will require excavation, and the duration of the work is not yet known.

Water service for Richardson and surrounding communities will remain uninterrupted, and water is safe for normal use.

To support the repair, NTMWD will temporarily place a parallel pipeline back into service. As this pipeline is recharged with water, residents in Richardson may notice increased noise. This is expected to be temporary and will only occur during the recharging process.

We appreciate your patience as NTMWD works to address this issue and maintain reliable water service for the region.
