August 5 Yuma City Council Agenda Highlights

The next regular Yuma City Council meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

Here are some of the items scheduled to be presented to City Council for consideration:

Canvass of July 21 Primary Election results

Council will consider canvassing the results of the July 21 Primary Election for Mayor, three City Council seats, and Presiding Municipal Judge. The canvass is the formal process used to make the election results final and official.

Grass Seed Purchase for Parks and Golf Courses

Following a competitive bid process, a bid award for grass seed will be presented for Council consideration. The purchase would provide seed used for winter turf maintenance and overseeding at City parks, golf courses, athletic fields, and other open spaces.

Public Works Equipment Purchases

Several Public Works fleet equipment purchases are scheduled for Council consideration to replace aging vehicles and add new equipment to the City's fleet. The equipment would support different Public Works operations, including street maintenance, infrastructure work, debris removal, roadside and alley cleanup, and trash and recycling collection.

Yuma Innovation District Professional Services Contract

Council will consider authorizing a professional services contract for the Yuma Innovation District. The contract would assist with implementation planning for the district, including partnership development, governance, phasing, financing options, and tenant or anchor recruitment. The district is intended to support Downtown redevelopment, job creation, workforce development, and higher education partnerships.
