CSPD Seeking Additional Victims in Sexual Exploitation Investigation
On July 15, 2025, the Colorado Springs Police Department initiated an investigation into a report of Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust (SACPOT) and Sexual Exploitation of a Child. An investigation was initiated by detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC) and investigators with the Forensic Interview Unit (FIU). This resulted in probable cause to charge 64-year-old Stephen King Sr. for these offenses.
On July 31, 2025, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. King. He was then taken into custody without incident on August 4, 2025, by the Fremont County Sheriff's Office at his residence in Cotopaxi.
