September 15, 2026 - There are three local traditions taking place in the next couple of weeks that may impact drivers in Bettendorf.
On Thursday, September 17, 2026, the Pleasant Valley High School Homecoming Parade takes place on Belmont Road starting at 6 p.m. Belmont Road will be closed from the entrance of Scott Community College (500 Belmont Road) to Pleasant Valley High School (604 Belmont Road). The parade will start at the entrance of Scott Community College and proceed down Belmont Road, ending at Pleasant Valley High School.
On Thursday, September 24, 2026, the Bettendorf High School Homecoming Parade takes place on 18th Street starting at 6 p.m. 18th Street will be closed from the entrance of Bettendorf Middle School (2030 Middle Road) to Bettendorf High School (3333 18th Street). The parade will start at the entrance of Bettendorf Middle School and proceed up 18th Street, ending at Bettendorf High School.
On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the Quad Cities Marathon takes place across four cities, including Bettendorf. From approximately 6 to 11 a.m., several roads will be closed once racers cross the I-74 Bridge from Illinois to Iowa via the Bike and Pedestrian Path. They then travel east on State Street until they reach the intersection of 17th Street/George Thuenen Drive. Whoever is not involved in the full marathon turns south and crosses the George Thuenen Bridge to access the Mississippi River Trail and head towards Davenport. If you find yourself along one of these routes, please be courteous and attentive. Police Officers and Event Volunteers will move cars through as quickly as possible.
