LAKE WALES, Fla. - As students prepare to head back to the classroom, AdventHealth Lake Wales team members are helping local families and teachers start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.
Through a hospital-wide school supply drive, team members collected and donated thousands of school supplies for students at Spook Hill Elementary School.
Donations included 31 backpacks, 54 spiral notebooks, 53 composition journals, 118 folders, 867 pencils, 1,392 crayons, 684 colored pencils, 132 glue sticks and bottles, 82 dry-erase markers and many other classroom essentials.
The effort reflects AdventHealth's commitment to supporting the health and educational success of children and families throughout the community.
"Having the right school supplies can make a meaningful difference for students as they begin a new school year," said McKinsey Quinn, director of respiratory care at AdventHealth Lake Wales, who helped organize the donations. "Our team members were thrilled to come together for a project that supports local students and recognizes the important role families and educators play in their success. We're grateful for the opportunity to give back to a community that means so much to us."
AdventHealth Lake Wales team members worked together to collect the supplies over several weeks before delivering them to Spook Hill Elementary.
"On behalf of the students, staff and families of Spook Hill Elementary School, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the AdventHealth Lake Wales team for their generous donation of back-to-school supplies," said Michelle Browning, principal of Spook Hill Elementary School. "Your kindness and commitment to our school community will have a lasting impact on our students. By providing essential school supplies, you are helping ensure our children begin the school year with the tools they need to learn, grow and succeed. These contributions remove barriers to learning, build confidence and allow teachers to focus on helping every child reach their fullest potential."
