Milling and Resurfacing of Various Bridges in Connecticut

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing milling and resurfacing of bridges on Route 3, Route 372, Route 94 and I-91 in Glastonbury, Berlin, Wethersfield, Cromwell, East Windsor, Enfield, Hartford, and Windsor. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, July 6, 2026, and be completed on Tuesday, November 30, 2027. The project 0171-0519 & 0171-0520 consists of removing the bridge overlay and membrane, addressing necessary repairs to the bridge deck and applying new membrane and overlay as well as replacing the bridge joints of various bridges in District 1.

CTDOT Project No. 0171-0519 & 0171-0520 was awarded to Hammonasset Construction LLC at a cost of $10,990,777.25 on May 2, 2026, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2027. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be various, temporary lane and ramp closures with associated detours on Route 3, Route 372, Route 94 and I-91 in the above-mentioned towns from Monday, July 6, 2026, through Tuesday, November 30, 2027 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns, crash trucks, arrow boards and State Troopers as needed will guide motorists through the work zone. Advance notification will be provided per location with use of Changeable Message Signs.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
