Dentons Lee successfully concludes Data Security and Privacy Law Seminar

On September 23, 2025, Dentons Lee successfully held the "Data Security and Privacy Law Seminar: Navigate, Protect and Defend Data in South Korea - Are you Ready?".

The seminar was organized to address the growing importance of data protection and regulatory compliance in the rapidly digitalizing environment. It provided a platform for participants to review various security threats and legal risks that companies are facing today. Attendees gained comprehensive insights into the latest enforcement trends under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), technical and institutional security measures, and strategies to respond to data breach incidents.

The first session was delivered by Attorney Sung-Eun Ahn of Dentons Lee and Foreign Senior Attorney John JungKyum Kim of Dentons Lee, who analyzed recent data breach cases and discussed PIPC enforcement trends and key legal issues. Representative Oscar Arnflo of Security Office then presented on the threat landscape from a hacker's perspective, using real-world examples. Executive Director Jun-Sung Park of Aon Korea introduced risk management measures through cyber insurance. Finally, Senior Managing Director Kyung J. Kim of FTI Consulting U.S. shared global incident response and digital forensic cases, providing insights from an international perspective. The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A and networking session, where participants had the opportunity to directly engage with the speakers and exchange views on practical issues.

The seminar was recognized as offering valuable insights into the latest regulatory trends and real-world cases, enabling companies to refine and strengthen their data security strategies.
