The fiction is based on the short story of the same name, My Sad Dead , by the acclaimed writer, and weaves the narrative together with passages and characters from her other works: Julie, A Sunny Place for Shady People , and When We Talked to the Dead. The adaptation was written by Mariana Enriquez, Guillermo Calderón, Anastasia Ayazi, and Pablo Larraín.
