Harrisburg, PA - Yesterday, Governor Josh Shapiro addressed business and community leaders at the 2026 Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC)'s Annual Meeting after announcing that TerraPower Isotopes is investing $450 million into the Commonwealth to establish a radioisotope manufacturing facility, supporting the development of cancer-fighting drugs, in Philadelphia's Bellwether District.
Supported by $10 million in Commonwealth investment, Terrapower evaluated over 350 potential sites across the United States in a rigorous site selection process that included 49 site visits in eight metropolitan areas before choosing the Bellwether District, creating 225 new full-time jobs for Pennsylvanians over the next three years.
In his remarks, Governor Shapiro emphasized his Administration's economic development strategy successfully securing historic investments from companies like Terrapower Isotopes, Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, B. Braun, and GSK to expand their operations and create thousands of new jobs for Pennsylvanians in the Lehigh Valley and all across the Commonwealth.
