SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev Visits the SCO Demonstration Base for Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training in Yangling
On June 11, 2026, at the invitation of the leadership of the SCO Demonstration Base for Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training, SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev visited the city of Yangling, Shaanxi Province.

During the visit the Secretary-General toured the SCO Modern Agricultural Exchange Center, the Cross-Border Goods Exhibition and Trade Center, the SCO International Agricultural Trade Port, and the Yangling Smart Agriculture Demonstration Park. Nurlan Yermekbayev reviewed the achievements in the implementation of digital and smart technologies in the agricultural sector, the activities of international logistics and trade platforms, as well as the mechanisms for promoting agricultural products and developing scientific and technological cooperation among SCO member states.

Secretary-General also took part in s working lunch with He Ling, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Yangling Demonstration Zone, along with other members of the Zone's leadership. She briefed him on the activities of the SCO Demonstration Base, the projects being implemented, and the development of cooperation with the Organization's member states.

The parties discussed prospects for further collaboration between the SCO Secretariat and the Demonstration Base, as well as issues related to expanding practical cooperation in the agricultural sector. Nurlan Yermekbayev highly appreciated the work of the Demonstration Base and noted its important role in promoting innovative technologies, strengthening scientific and technical exchanges, developing mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as its contribution to training and advanced training of personnel from the Organization's member states in the field of agriculture. The Secretary-General reaffirmed the Secretariat's readiness to continue supporting the Demonstration Base's activities in the interests of further deepening practical interaction among SCO member states.
During the visit the Secretary-General also gave an interview to representatives of local media.
