SGMC Health Honors Crotser with BEE Award

SGMC Health recognized Jared Crotser, Patient Care Technician on 4T, as the recipient of the Being Extraordinary Everyday (BEE) Award for December. Crotser was honored for showcasing human kindness to a patient's family on Thanksgiving night.

Crotser, who has been with SGMC Health for 5.5 years, was nominated by a nurse colleague for going above and beyond to ensure that two family members of a patient could enjoy a warm holiday meal on Thanksgiving. According to the nomination, when he learned they had not eaten, Crotser coordinated with colleagues and even involved his wife, who generously shared a Thanksgiving dinner from her own celebration. Through this thoughtful act and the support of the team, he helped create a moment of comfort and kindness for the family during their hospital stay.

Tammie Cooper, Crotser's nurse manager, shared, "Jared consistently demonstrates compassion and a willingness to go the extra mile for patients and their families. His actions on Thanksgiving reflect the character and dedication he brings to our team every day."

The BEE Award is presented monthly to recognize non-nursing staff members, including patient care technicians, nursing assistants, and medical assistants, who exemplify extraordinary dedication, teamwork, and compassion in supporting the nursing staff. Nominees are evaluated based on leadership, attitude, and clinical support skills.

SGMC Health offers a variety of recognition programs to honor employees who most exemplify the tagline, "Remarkable People, Extraordinary Care, Human Kindness." To learn more about the BEE Award and other recognition programs, visit sgmc.org/recognition.
