Memorial Transplant Institute hosted a celebration to mark the opening of its new adult kidney transplant clinic in Hollywood, marking a major milestone in expanding access to patient-centered transplant care for South Florida and beyond.
The new 16,339-square-foot clinic replaces the former location and features an updated space designed to enhance the care experience. Patients, Institute team members and Memorial leaders toured the clinic as part of the opening celebration.
By bringing all non-surgical services and clinical areas together under one roof, the clinic supports smoother care coordination and stronger collaboration across teams. For patients navigating kidney transplant care, this creates a more supportive and streamlined experience.
Located at 300 S. Park Road, Suite 400, Hollywood, FL, the clinic occupies most of the fourth floor and is designed with patient comfort and efficiency in mind. The new location features:
"This new location reflects our continued commitment to accessible, coordinated, world-class transplant care," said Rachel Thomas, senior director of the Memorial Transplant Institute. "Our growth and outcomes, among the best in Florida, reflect the trust our community has placed in our program. Centralizing services in a modern, patient-centered space allows us to elevate the care experience further while strengthening collaboration across our teams."
Memorial Transplant Institute has performed over 800 kidney transplants since the program's inception in 2018. The Institute's care team includes a multidisciplinary group of specialists who collaborate to address every aspect of transplant care, including physicians, nurse practitioners, RN coordinators, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists, finance specialists, patient navigators, and medical assistants.
"Kidney transplant care is complex and highly collaborative," said Seyed Ghasemian, MD, chief of the institute's Abdominal Transplant Surgery Program. "Having our clinical services centralized allows our team to communicate more efficiently and focus on delivering safe and personalized care to every patient."
Memorial Healthcare System was the first in Broward County to offer heart transplants for adults, and its kidney transplant program builds on that same level of expertise, innovation, and coordinated care.
