The Rochester Public Schools Community Education and the City of Rochester Parks & Recreation Department are encouraging community members to complete a short survey to better understand recreation interests, awareness of existing programs, and opportunities for future offerings.
The survey is open now and will remain available through April 12. Community members can complete the survey online at https://rochesterpsd.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d3TG9MSz067u994. Community feedback will help both organizations identify gaps in programming, improve how information is shared, and explore new opportunities for recreation and enrichment activities for all ages.
Both Parks & Recreation and Community Education provide a wide range of programs and activities that support active, connected, and healthy communities. Community Education offers enrichment opportunities for youth and adults in areas such as sports, arts, leadership, and learning experiences, serving thousands of participants each year.
The survey asks residents about their current participation in recreation programs, how they learn about activities, and what types of programs or opportunities they would like to see offered in the future.
"This survey will help us better understand how residents connect with recreation programs and community activities," said Paul Widman, Director of Parks & Recreation. "By listening to the community, we can identify gaps in awareness or access and continue improving the programs and experiences we offer."
Leaders from Rochester Public Schools Community Education emphasized the importance of understanding how families and adults of all ages discover and engage with programs.
"For more than 50 years, Community Education has been focused on connecting residents with lifelong learning and enrichment opportunities," said Amy Eich, Executive Director of Community Education & Partnerships. "This survey helps us continue that work by understanding how people discover programs and where we can improve access and awareness."
Responses will help both organizations evaluate future program offerings, partnerships, and outreach efforts. A report on the learnings will be provided to the Rochester School Board, City Council and Park Board.
