Guiderail Upgrades on I-84 East and Westbound in New Britain

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that guide rail upgrades will be performed on I-84 east and westbound in New Britain from Exit 35 to 39. This project is scheduled to start on Monday, March 16 and be completed by Friday, May 29, 2026.The project DOT01703718CN consists of Guide Rail Upgrades.
This project is being performed by Eagle Fence and Guardrail.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
There will be right lane, left lane and shoulder closures on I-84 east and westbound in New Britain from Exit 35 to 39, from Monday, March 16 to Friday, May 29, 2026 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns, trailer mounted attenuators and State Troopers will guide motorists through the work zone. No work will be carried out around any major holidays.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
