Members of the
Reno Fire Department (RFD) are excited to participate in this year's Shamrock Shave for the St. Baldrick's Foundation to support fundraising of childhood cancer research grants. The event is happening on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Old Bridge Pub located at 50 North Sierra Street.
"We're proud to participate in this event every year as it's an opportunity to support kids and their families during a very challenging time," said Reno Fire Chief David Cochran. "The money raised from this event will help ease the burden of medical expenses due to childhood cancer."
RFD and other northern Nevada firefighters will take part in the shave to help find a cure. Reno residents are welcome to attend and donate to the cause. For the month of March, firefighters will be wearing Shamrock Shave uniform shirts to raise awareness to this cause.
Organizers of the Shamrock Shave have a goal of $50,000 in donations for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Residents who are interested in participating can sign up as a team or as an individual by visiting the
St. Baldrick's Shamrock Shave event page.
