Statement by State Secretary Andreas Kravik on the Strait of Hormuz

'It is crucial for both stability in the Middle East and the global economy that the Strait remains open and free from restrictions, in accordance with the law of the sea. This is also of significant importance for Norway and Norwegian interests', says Kravik.

'Going forward, Norway will continue to work to uphold respect for the principle of freedom of navigation under international law and contribute where possible toward the full and lasting reopening of the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)', says State Secretary Kravik.
