FULL PRESS RELEASE HERE -> 03-24-26 $500,000 Grant to Transform Former Palm Lake Golf Course

The Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District (RPOSD) has awarded more than $78 million in grant funding through Measure A, a voter approved initiative that supports parks and open space projects across the country. The City of Pomona is proud to be among the awardees, receiving a $500,000 Planning and Design grant.

This grant will support the transformation of the former Palm Lake Golf Course into a safe, accessible, and vibrant multi-use recreational space for the community. The project includes conceptual and schematic designs, site feasibility studies, CEQA analysis, green infrastructure, and the development of construction-ready documents. Community engagement workshops will be held to help ensure the project reflects community needs and priorities, while positioning it for future funding opportunities.
