Fox Chase Provides Update on Winter Storm and Patient Care Operations

January 23, 2026

Fox Chase is closely monitoring the major winter storm expected to impact the Philadelphia region this weekend into Monday. At this time, Fox Chase remains open and operational across the system. However, weather conditions may result in adjustments to some appointments, procedures, or services.

Patient safety remains our top priority, and updates will be shared as conditions evolve.

As of Friday, January 23, 2026:

Emergency, Labor & Delivery and Cancer Triage Care Services

The following Emergency Services are expected to remain open:

  • Temple University Hospital - Main Campus
  • Temple University Hospital - Jeanes Campus
  • Temple University Hospital - Episcopal Campus
  • Chestnut Hill Hospital
  • OB and Maternity Care Services at Temple Women & Families:
    • No changes to labor and delivery services
    • OB Triage Unit (Direct Response Unit) remains open
  • Fox Chase Cancer Center Triage Care:
    • Direct Response Unit remains open

Hospital-Based Surgeries and Procedures

At this time, hospital-based surgeries and procedures are proceeding as scheduled. Patients will be contacted directly if weather conditions require any changes to their procedure.

Other Hospital-Based Outpatient Departments and Services

Hospital-based outpatient departments and services are currently operating as scheduled. Patients will be notified directly if weather conditions require changes.

Physician Offices and Outpatient Practices

This includes the following practices:

  • Temple Faculty Physicians
  • Temple Physicians, Inc.
  • Chestnut Hill Clinic Company
  • Fox Chase Medical Group

Most physician offices will reschedule or convert to virtual visits due to weather conditions. Patients will be contacted directly with more information.

Temple ReadyCare

All Temple ReadyCare locations will be closed on Sunday, January 25, and Monday, January 26. See above information about the status of Fox Chase's emergency services.

How Patients Will Receive Updates

Patients will be notified directly if their appointment, procedure, or visit is impacted through:

  • Email
  • Text message
  • Phone calls when necessary

Please do not call ahead, as call volumes may be high and response times could be delayed.
