Bring The Family To The Free Parks For Pollinators BioBlitz Sept. 13

10 A.M. To 2 P.M. At Floyd Lamb Park At Tule Springs

Bring the family to participate in the third annual Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be free fun for the whole family, with a plant/seed swap, BioBlitz Bingo and other games for prizes, plus STEAM activities for the kids, exhibitor booths and food trucks offering refreshments for sale. The park is located at 9200 Tule Springs Road, and entry will be free during the event.

Have extra seeds for flowers or vegetables? Bulbs you thinned out? Small pots with herbs or new seedlings? Extra containers for plants? More garden tools than you need? Bring them with you, check in at Base Camp at the Hay Barn/Lakeside Courtyard Gazebo and swap for something you want at the swap table! Browse through the exhibitor booths, engage with community partners, play games to win prizes and enjoy the STEAM activities. Community partners expected include the DISCOVERY Children's Museum, Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, Red Rock Audubon Society, National Park Service, U.S. Department of Environment and Sustainability, Nevada Division of Forestry, Nevada Department of Wildlife, Las Vegas Science and Natural History Museum, Mojave Bloom NV, Cactus Joes/Desert Love, Springs Preserve, Master Gardeners of Nevada, Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary and Friends of Red Rock Canyon.

The Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz is a national campaign sponsored by the National Recreation and Park Association and The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation. This September, parks throughout the country will be participating in a fun challenge to see how many pollinator species can be documented throughout the month. It is easy for you to participate, too! Simply join our project page, make observations on your own, and upload using the iNaturalist app. With the iNaturalist app, the online community will help identify the species of plant, animal or insect you've observed. By reviewing other observations, you can help make our data "research grade"!

This information will help us understand our local biodiversity and how we can better protect the plants, pollinators and other important wildlife in our community. Sign up to participate in our Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz now, by creating an account at iNaturalist and joining the park's iNaturalist project page for 2025.
