Rep. Deeter Highlights School Bus Safety Grant Funding for Local Districts

Deeter (R-Norwalk) is pleased to announce that numerous local school districts in Huron and Lorain Counties were recently awarded funding from the Ohio School Bus Safety Grant Program-totaling more than $100,898.

As part of the state operating budget, the Legislature provided $10 million toward helping school districts offset the costs of upgrading their bus fleets with advanced safety equipment. Flexible guidelines allowed each school district to best utilize the funds to promote safety in their fleet.

"I am grateful for this funding which will directly increase the safety of our students," said Deeter.

The list of awardees in the 54th House District is the following:

  • Monroeville Local School District - $5,000
  • New London Local School District - $10,902
  • Norwalk City School District - $18,193
  • Western Reserve Local School District - $17,102

  • Columbia Local School District - $5,000
  • Keystone Local School District - $19,995
  • Midview Local School District - $10,888
