Temporary Nighttime Closures for Paving for the I-80/Gilman Street Interchange Project

Final Paving Scheduled the Week of November 19, 2024

Alameda/Berkeley- Caltrans will conduct nighttime closures for paving work at the Gilman Street/I-80 Interchange Project to install the final layer of asphalt. The work is scheduled to take place the week of November 19, 2024. The following closures are planned:

  • Closure Dates: Tuesday night, November 19, to Saturday morning, November 23, 2024
  • Closure Times: Nightly from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM

During this time, the Eastbound and Westbound Gilman Street on and off ramps and portions of Gilman Street off the I-80 Interchange will be closed to traffic to allow for a safe and efficient paving operation. Detours will be set in place. All work is weather dependent.

This work is the final phase of paving for the Gilman Interchange Project, aiming to improve safety and traffic flow in the area. Caltrans appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as we work to complete this essential infrastructure upgrade.

Closed Segments

Gilman Street: Between 2nd Street and West Frontage Road, in both directions.

2nd Street: Between Page Street and Camelia Street, in both directions.

Eastbound I-80 Onramp and Offramp at Gilman Street exit.

Westbound I-80 Onramp and Offramp at Gilman Street exit.
