ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona will host a DUI awareness and impact program with speaker Martin Lockett on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. in the Pond View Lounge of the Slep Student Center.

Lockett served almost 18 years for manslaughter, caused one New Year's Eve when he drank excessively and drove through a stop light, colliding with a car carrying three people. Upon learning that the two people who died in the crash were volunteers in the drug and alcohol recovery community, Lockett chose to honor them by dedicating his life to helping others through addiction counseling and drinking and driving prevention.

The event is sponsored by Penn State Altoona's Wellness Health Advisory Board.
