Bomb Threat at Church in Truth or Consequences

IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 17, 2026

Statement from Chairwoman Amy Barela on bomb threat at Church in Truth or Consequences:

Truth or Consequences, NM - RPNM Chairwoman Amy Barela releases official statement on reports of a bomb threat during a church service in Truth or Consequences:

"I am grateful that everyone at New Hope Revival Church's Truth or Consequences campus is safe following the reported bomb threat during a recent service," said Chairwoman Barela. "As Chairwoman, I stand proudly for the liberty of all churches and houses of worship in our great state. More must be done to ensure these sacred places are protected in New Mexico, and the rest of the country from threats or violence. Incidents like this are deeply concerning, and they are an important reminder that threats and violence have no place in our communities, our politics, and least of all - our churches. No matter our differences, intimidation and fear must never be used as tools to silence or endanger others. I pray for this congregation, Pastor Caleb Cooper, and all those affected by this frightening situation."

"Churches across America must understand that Prayer is one of our greatest spiritual weapons in the Last Days," said Pastor Caleb Cooper. "We must walk in Holy Spirit discernment and believe Isaiah 54:17 that no weapon formed against us shall be able to prosper."
