California Arts Council Announces Two New RFPs to Support Statewide Creative Economy Engagement Tour

Sacramento, CA- The California Arts Council (CAC) is pleased to announce the release of two Requests for Proposals (RFPs) supporting the Creative Economies in Action: 2025 Statewide Engagement Tour, a major public initiative advancing California's first-ever Creative Economy Strategic Plan.

Building on the foundational work of the Creative Economy Workgroup of California-established through AB127 and inclusive of both non-profit and for-profit sectors-CAC seeks expert partners to help bring this landmark statewide plan to communities across California through storytelling, public events, and robust engagement strategies. These efforts will inform a comprehensive addendum to the Creative Economy Strategic Plan, to be submitted to the Governor's Office and California State Legislature by the end of the calendar year.

RFP 24-005: Creative Economy Regional Engagement Partners
Budget: $21,750 | Timeline: July 1 - Dec. 31, 2025
CAC seeks contractors to conduct regional event planning and coordination, develop strategic partnerships, and ensure inclusive community outreach in alignment with equity-centered design practices. Up to 8 regions have been identified, each regional contract is set at $21,750. Contractors may apply for one or multipleregions within this initiative. RFP 24-006: Creative Economy Strategic Communications Partner
Budget: $76,000| Timeline: July 1 - Mar. 31, 2026
CAC is also seeking a communications partner to co-design the communications strategy and branding, website design, collect and produce multi-media stories from the field, and create accessible toolkits and report materials.

Important Dates for Both RFPs:

  • RFP Release Date: May 12, 2025
  • Proposals Due: May 23, 2025 by 5:00 PM PST
  • Contract Awards Announced: May 30, 2025
  • Contract Period RFP #1: July 1 - December 31, 2025
  • Contract Period RFP #2: July 1 - March 31, 2026

Interested applicants may apply to one or both RFPs. Proposal requirements include a project narrative, team bios, work samples, budget proposal, and references.
