Dairyland Power Cooperative Supports the Nelson Volunteer Fire Department

Dairyland Power Cooperative has donated $17,164.09 to the Nelson Volunteer Fire Department following Dairyland's 4th Annual John P. Madgett (JPM) Charitable Golf Outing earlier this summer. As local first responders, the department supports Dairyland's Alma Site in the event of fire or emergency.

"At Dairyland, safety remains our highest priority and local first responders are vital to safeguarding our team and the communities we serve," said President and CEO Brent Ridge. "We are proud to support the Nelson Volunteer Fire Department and appreciate their commitment to protecting our local communities."

The funds raised will be used to upgrade the department's equipment, enhancing its ability to respond effectively to emergencies.

"I'm truly grateful for Dairyland's support of the Nelson Volunteer Fire Department," said Fire Chief Ty Johnson. Johnson has served in the fire department for 33 years, the last four as chief. In addition to that role, he also works for Dairyland as a Foreperson, Mechanical Generation at the JPM power plant. "It's inspiring to work for a company that values its connection to the communities it serves," he shared. Many Dairyland employees demonstrate the Cooperative Principle of Concern for Community by actively volunteering with local emergency response organizations.
