Muscat, Order of the Star of Italy Awarded to Umberto Fanni

The ceremony for awarding the Order of the Star of Italy to Dr. Umberto Fanni, General Director and Artistic Director of the Royal Opera House of Muscat, one of the country's leading cultural institutions, was held on May 25 at the Residenza d'Italia in Muscat.

The honour, bestowed by the President of the Republic, acknowledges Dr. Fanni's contribution to strengthening cultural relations between Italy and Oman. In over ten years of leadership, the Royal Opera House has strengthened artistic cooperation between the two countries, promoting intercultural dialogue and Italian excellence in the region.

During the ceremony, Pierluigi D'Elia, the Italian Ambassador of Italy to the Sultanate of Oman, emphasized that Fanni's commitment has turned culture into a bridge between nations, enhancing the principles of dialogue and mutual respect that characterize the relationship between Italy and Oman.
