Fort Lauderdale's Aquatic Center Splashes into the International Spotlight

Our Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center (FLAC) is having a landmark year! From championship titles to Olympians on deck, our city is becoming one of the top destinations for world-class aquatic competitions.

The American Cup Is Coming Back in 2026

USA Diving and World Aquatics have confirmed that the 2026 American Cup will take place in Fort Lauderdale from April 16 through 19, 2026. This marks the first time in 13 years that our city hosts this prestigious event.

2026 Speedo Fort Lauderdale Open: A Star-Studded Event

Mark your calendars for April 29 through May 2, 2026. The Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center will host the 2026 Speedo Fort Lauderdale Open, with up to 700 athletes expected, 65 national teams already confirmed, and more than 25 Olympians set to compete and is shaping up to be one of the most exciting swim events of the year!

Last year, three world records were set in a single day and 2026 promises even more thrilling action. Top professional swimmers as well as collegiate and club teams from across the country will compete including University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Virginia, Auburn University, NC State University, Ohio State University, and more.

The action begins April 29, 2026, at 5 PM with the 1500 Freestyle. Preliminary heats run daily at 9 AM, with Finals each evening at 6 PM through May 2.

Fort Lauderdale is ready to be the stage for history again. If you love elite swimming, this is the event to watch.
