Finance Department Recognized For Budget

Fredericksburg, Texas - For a ninth straight year, the City of Fredericksburg has been honored by the Government Finance Officers Association with the GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.

The award highlights the City's commitment to excellence in governmental budgeting and its dedication to meeting the highest standards in budgetary practices.

To receive the award, the City met rigorous national guidelines, demonstrating proficiency in budget presentation as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.

The association gave the City 'Outstanding' scores in the following categories: Table of Contents, Strategic Goals, Long-Range Financial Plans, Performance Measures as well as Department/Program Goals and Objectives.

With over 1,700 participants, award recipients set a benchmark for quality budgeting across North America. The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) promotes excellence in government finance through best practices, professional development, and resources for its 25,000 members.
