TDS to bring all-fiber internet network to more Central Wisconsin communities

Residents in Ripon and Beaver Dam areas will see stronger connections with TDS fiber expansion

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) will expand its high-speed, all-fiber internet network in Central Wisconsin, bringing lightning-fast internet speeds, a new choice in TV providers, and phone and mobile services to more communities in the Badger State.

The Wisconsin-based company plans to bring its services to Ripon, Beaver Dam, Waupun, Lomira, Theresa, Horicon, Brownsville, Juneau, and Iron Ridge, serving a total of more than 29,000 homes and businesses. Construction is expected to begin later this year.

TDS is a family-operated company with more than 55 years of telecommunications experience. The TDS fiber network includes lightning-fast symmetrical speeds up to 8 Gigabit - fast enough to upload or download a file of any size nearly instantly.

TDS fiber service is ideal for not only streaming and remote work or school, but also for commercial customers and households with large, shared internet needs. Beyond the standard service options, TDS offers a low-cost service for qualifying customers called TDS Connect that includes speeds up to 200 Mbps.

In addition to fiber internet, TDS TV®+ features a large selection of networks and channels, cloud DVR, and integration with streaming apps. Customers can also add landline phone packages and TDS Mobile, which provides nationwide 5G coverage at affordable prices.

The project will be funded entirely through TDS' multi-million dollar investment, with no government funding used.

Construction of the network will be done in phases, with customers able to connect once work in their neighborhood is completed. Residents will be notified of construction in several ways, including signage and by postcard, letter, and door hanger. Contractors will work to minimize disruptions and restore any areas impacted by the burying of fiber.

In addition to Central Wisconsin, TDS has fiber expansion projects under way throughout the state, including in Eau Claire, Green Bay, Janesville, Fond du Lac, the Fox Cities, Sheboygan, and more.
