Gov. Evers Seeks Applicants for Price County Coroner
MADISON - Gov. Tony Evers announced today that he is seeking applicants for appointment as coroner in Price County. The appointment will fill the vacancy created by James D. Dalbesio III, who passed away on Feb. 10, 2026. Mr. Dalbesio served as Price County Coroner since June 1992. The new coroner will serve for the remainder of the unexpired term that ends on Jan. 4, 2027.

Application materials must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Fri., March 6, 2026. For more information about the position, please contact Price County Sheriff Brian Schmidt at (715) 339-3011. Those interested in applying must submit an online application with a cover letter detailing professional and academic qualifications, civic activities, and community involvement.
