AMC Global Media Greenlights Happy Jack

New Comedy Series Starring Charlie and Martin Sheen, Playing A Father-and-Son Duo, To Premiere On AMC And AMC+ In 2027

NEW YORK, NY, September 29, 2026 - AMC Global Media today announced the greenlight of a new original series for AMC and AMC+, Happy Jack. The half-hour family comedy from AMC Studios stars Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen as a father and son. The series will start production in Los Angeles early next year on a six-episode first season and premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2027.

The creative team behind the show includes writers, executive producers and co-showrunners Jim Patterson and Matt Ross, who previously worked together on Two and a Half Men and The Ranch. Charlie Sheen, who plays Jack Chambers, is also an executive producer, as are Todd Christopher, The Tannenbaum Company (Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang) and 20th Television.

Happy Jack is a contemporary family comedy featuring one of America's favorite comedic actors. Charlie Sheen plays Jack, a bit of a lifelong ne'er-do-well. He's got two great daughters (though his Dad, played by Martin Sheen, deserves more credit for how they turned out). Kate runs Jack's company and keeps him on the rails while Sam is a wild child who is more like her Dad. When Sam comes home to introduce everyone to her new boyfriend, Jack's shocked to learn Paul, a former investment banker turned van life guru, is the same age as he is. Shocked at first (hypocrisy be damned), Jack soon realizes he's got a choice to make. Will he keep looking out for number one, or embrace this last chance to be a real part of his daughters' lives?

Happy Jack will be part of the slate of original programming AMC Global Media will be presenting to international buyers at MIPCOM in October. The series will be filmed in front of a live audience at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, in the same studio where Friends was filmed.
