Meeting with the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Akihiko Tanaka

On December 19, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Akihiko Tanaka in Tokyo.

The President of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that the Tajik side highly appreciates the level of cooperation with Japan within the framework of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The parties paid attention to the development of cooperation in important areas of the national economy of our country, including the implementation of joint projects in the sectors of industry, transport, energy, agriculture, water supply, education, and healthcare.

The signing of two new grant agreements on projects for the construction of a substation and the modernization of cargo scanning equipment at the customs checkpoint was welcomed.

Attracting Japanese direct investment, including preferential yen loans, was another topic of discussion.

The development of "green" energy was named as one of the promising areas of cooperation.

Interest was expressed in expanding the JDS Program's sectors in the fields of medicine, nanotechnology, information technology, aviation technology, information security, environmental protection, and the establishment of the Tajik-Japanese Center for Innovation and Digital Technologies in our country.
